The Chartiers Valley girls beat Moon Friday, 79-26, in a WPIAL Class 5A Section 1 game. The win stretched the Colts’ winning streak to 62 games, tying the state record set by Lancaster Catholic from 2017-19.

Chartiers Valley (5-0 overall, 3-0 section) could break the record with a win Monday against South Fayette. Chartiers Valley entered the game against Moon game tied with York Catholic for the second-longest streak at 61 games. Chartiers Valley led, 27-5, after the first quarter and by 48-11 at halftime.

Junior guard Aislin Malcolm led Chartiers Valley with 24 points while junior forward Perry Page added 14. Chartiers Valley is averaging 73 points a game this season.

Emma Theodorsson scored 18 of Moon’s 26 points.

Chartiers Valley’s previous loss was to District 10’s Harbor Creek in the 2018 PIAA playoffs.
